Single Vision Radiation Glasses
Single vision prescription lead glasses offer a single prescription throughout the whole lens. This type of prescription has no bifocal or additional power for reading added onto it. Our single vision prescription glasses feature standard 0.75mm lead equivalency Schott SF-6 HT radiation safety glass lenses.
Lined Bifocal (FT28) Prescription Glasses
Lined bifocal prescriptions offer distance correction on the top of the lens and near, or reading, correction on the bottom of the lens. The two areas are separated by a line. The reading area is a semicircle with a flat part on top (Flat-Top) that is 28mm wide, which is where the FT28 comes from. Our FT28 prescription glasses feature our standard 0.75mm lead equivalency Schott SF-6 HT radiation safety glass lenses
Progressive / Varifocal (No-Line) Bifocal Radiation Glasses
Progressive / varifocal prescriptions offer distance correction on the top of the lens and near, or reading, correction on the bottom of the lens. The two areas are separated by a corridor which progressively increases the reading, or near prescription strength as you look down the lens, allowing you to have intermediate correction between the distance correction and the near correction. This also makes the bifocal nature of the lens invisible; there is no line. Our progressive prescription glasses feature our standard 0.75mm lead equivalency Schott SF-6 HT radiation safety glass lenses
Our prescription lead glasses are available in a variety of safety frames. If you need help or advice in choosing your frame you can contact us at support@safetyprotectionglasses.com.
Radiation Standards
All of our prescription lead glasses conform to IEC 61331-3:2014 which applies to protective devices such as protective clothing and eyewear for the protection of persons against X radiation up to 150 kV. These devices are to be used during radiological examinations and interventional procedures.
This standard deals with all requirements on any accompanying documents, on the design of the frame and on materials used and with sizing. This standard also covers specific design features, the minimum attenuation properties of materials, any marking and standardized forms of statements of compliance with this standard. Our Certificates of Conformity can be found on each of the product pages for individual radiation glasses.
